Walking to work through London recently I saw a young lady (probably in her twenties), relatively well presented, but the entire effect was spoiled by her t-shirt having “DRESS TO IMPRESS” emblazoned over the front. Really? Is this her idea of dressing to impress? Am I really showing my age here?
One words that’s confused me (or I’ve been confused by, however you wish to look at it) is the name of a shop “Calzedonia”. I’ve seen adverts for this place on the side of double decker buses on my daily walk through London, and I’ve always been put in mind of a Scottish folded pizza…
Words interest me, but sometimes they also… mislead me. Or I allow myself to become misled by them – I’m not sure. Typically I misread things leading to a minor confusion and a wee smile. Alternatively (and more commonly, recently) I end up saying spoonerisms. I caught myself making a slight mistake with one line…
